Holstein Park


This photo found in a box in a Bucktown basement shows Holstein Park in its heyday --when the fire department flooded the playing fields and kids from all over the neighborhood came to skate. It was taken around 1948. Today, the practice has been discontinued because of liability and insurance issues.
